Here Are the 3 Biggest LA Home Sales of Last Week

Monday, July 22, 2013, by Eve Bachrach

Listed for: $13.5 million
Listed on: April 15, 2013
Sold for: $11.5 million
Size: Six bedrooms, nine bathrooms in a little more than 10,000 square feet
Location: 12719 San Vicente Boulevard, Brentwood
The Lowdown: This new-build across San Vicente from the Brentwood Country Club is “modern living redefined,” apparently, but it looks like a pretty by-the-book project for a nice family with oodles of money. There are six bedrooms upstairs and one down-, a pool and pool house, wine cellar, media room, several fireplaces, and a walk-in closet in the master suite that looks like a small department store–everything you’d expect. It’s all glassy and light, if a bit chilly, and was the biggest sale of the last week.

Listed for: $8.75 million
Listed on: May 29, 2013
Sold for: $8.5 million
Size: Four bedrooms, five bathrooms in 5,876 square feet on more than three-quarters of an acre.
Location: 464 Bel Air Road, Bel Air
The Lowdown: This two-story traditional seems positively modest by the standards of this list. Behind the iron gates lie a large motor court and the house, which has formal entertaining rooms, a library, small kitchen with commercial-grade appliances, and four bedroom suites. There’s a pool, of course, and a nice yard to boot. The property was sold by Ronnie Dashev, cofounder of (now defunct) Maverick Records with Madonna.

Listed for: $7.88 million
Listed on: June 28, 2013 (most recently)
Sold for: $7.1 million
Size: Five bedrooms, six bathrooms in 8,322 square feet on 0.88 acres.
Location: 1725 Orlando Road, Pasadena
The Lowdown: This French Contemporary near the Huntington Library and Gardens was built in 1936 and “rebuilt” in 1988. It looks it. But the rooms downstairs all look to be enormous, and outside there’s a pool, tennis court, and lots of fruit trees.
